#WirelessWednesday Virgin Mobile

Today is my first cellular provider review on this blog. I've seen 4 year old with minutes so it's fair to say that nearly everyone has one. If you don't, this is perfect for you and could give you some insight into the things that may be important to you. If you do have one, it might either make you appreciate you plan or persuade you into setting a countdown to when that slave master of a provider releases those shackles at the end of your contract.

I thought to myself. Then, I thought really hard. Then, I went outside and cut some grass. Then, I came back in the house and decided that I'm starting with my own situation considering it personal and I know it the best.

Introducing
I'm currently a Virgin Mobile Customer. It's a prepaid provider. That means I'm not required by any contract to continue my service. It can be a good thing if you want to have the freedom to switch to another provider from month to month or plan to just stay off the grid for a while and make people miss you. The burnt rice at the bottom of the "PrePaidPot" is that it does suffer in the customer support area. That means long waits until you're connected to your telecommunications agent and constant redirection to the providers website for your (their) convenience. There service is actually under Sprints network which serves as pretty good coverage. I don't get too many dropped calls unless it's one of those areas that everyone gets dropped calls. Never attempt a conversation while navigating around Slauson and Overhill. Fellow Los Angelinos, please warn you visitors. Virgin Mobile is a CDMA provider as opposed to a GSM. When you hear CDMA think, "SIM cards are for suckers. My provider will hopefully keep my contacts on file."

This ones too big. This ones too small. This ones just right.
I do take advantage of the ability to change my plan often. Unlimited plans are everywhere now and Virgin Mobile is no stranger. For $55 you can get unlimited calling, text messaging, and data on a 3G network. I'm still trying to get them to jump on the 4G bandwagon. They'll have to budge one of these days if they want to stay in competition. It frees you of some early grey hairs not having to worry about any minutes, but if you're like me, you don't even talk on the phone enough for it to be worth it. I realized that I could save $10 a month by switching to the $1200 minute plan for $45. I average about 600 or so a month so I never really have to worry about having to purchase more. Going over is not an option. I still get unlimited text messaging and data anyways. If you're really allergic to talking, then you can go as far as saving $20 dollars a month by opting for the 300 minute plan for 30 smackeroos.

A Spoonful of Sugar Makes The Medicine Go Down
Virgin mobile does provide referral incentives in the form a of kickback minutes for anyone who uses your referral code when activating an account. You get 60 minutes per person with a maximum up 100 referrals a year. That's 6000 minutes a year. If that's the case, I suggest you put in an application for a sales rep then start pushing my code, BMOWTDSV, for the remainder of the year. No use in wasting perfectly good minutes. They've got a small set of phones to choose from with an inclination towards Android so you may

Please share this article to your friends and leave a comment, especially if you're a Virgin Mobile Customer yourself. I'd really like to hear about your experiences. I might even be able to provide some assistance. Take it easy.
